FACULTY QUALIFICATIONS
Africa Institute Seattle recruits qualified and experienced faculty; prospective faculty must possess relevant minimum qualifications of Master degrees, professional degrees, such as J/D, LL.M., and Ph.D. In addition to the above-required degrees, as a policy, Africa Institute Seattle expects its entire faculty to have
1. Demonstrable teaching experience in a post secondary setting
2. Demonstrable skill in the use of computer and ability to incorporate technology in teaching and learning environment
3. Demonstrable communication (written and verbal) skills
4. Certificate of Completion that would enable them teach online; if this skill is lacking, candidate must be willing to undergo training in the use of BlackBoard and/or eCollege teaching platforms
5. Ability to develop and enhance curriculum in accordance to the Institutes Mission & policy
6. Ability to design syllabus, and make lectures very interactive
7. ability o regularly provide to our students desired, timely and relevant feedback regarding their academic performance
8. Ability to maintain office hours equivalent to the number of instructional credit units per week
9. Ability to motivate students, and enhance their critical thinking and analytical process
10. Ability to maintain and submit grades to the registrar as and at when grades are due
11. Ability to participate in faculty meeting, etc
